Lollypop Christmas Trees

Now, I must say before we get down to the nitty-gritty of the “how to make”, this fabulous Christmas decoration is not my born out of my own wondrous crafting imagination, as you all know by now I am yet to develop in that area!  But it’s simplicity and beauty makes this a must share with the entire world (or at least for now those of you beautiful people that follow my blog).

So, I actually found like little gem via my most wonderful Facebook group for Homeschoolers (Homeschooling UK).  The actual how to make can be followed via the You Tube clip at the bottom of the post 🙂

What You Will Need

6 Lollypop Sticks (Livvy used different colour ones but you could use plain ones then paint them – as is in the video clip)
Sequins
Pipe Cleaners
PVA Glue

How We Did It

  1. Lay 5 of the lollypop sticks onto a solid surface and draw a triangle  shape onto one side, then with your scissors cut the lollpop along the lines that you have drawn (an adult will need to do this part!)
  2. Next take your remaining lollypop and use this as the “trunk” to the Christmas tree, position the sticks that you cut into a triangle starting with the shortest one first at the top and work your way down to the bottom of the truck..these are the “branches” once you are happy with the positioning, glue into place
  3. Then glue sequins onto the branches, we also used pipe cleaners and made them look like tinsel 🙂
  4. If you want you could affix some thread onto the top of the tree and hang!

Now, a little note of caution!  This is beautiful to make but it is a little fiddly (and we all know how I am with fiddly things!) if you are doing with a little one you will probably do the majority of the work 😉
